Loose Braided Crown
Materials:
Hairbrush or comb
Hair clips (optional)
Hairspray (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare your hair: Brush or comb your hair to remove any tangles.
2. Create a part: Divide your hair down the center from your forehead to the nape of your neck. Clip one side up temporarily.
3. French braid one side: Start a French braid on the unclipped side, beginning at the crown of your head. Gather a small section of hair from the top, divide it into three strands, and braid it tightly.
4. Continue braiding: Keep adding hair from the sides as you braid, creating a Dutch braid (inverted French braid) that gradually moves towards the back of your head.
5. Repeat on the other side: Clip the braided side up and repeat steps 3-4 on the other side.
6. Secure the braids: When you reach the ends of your hair, secure each braid with a hair tie.
7. Loosely join the braids: Loosen the braids slightly to create a more natural look. Join the two braids together at the nape of your neck using hair clips.
8. Adjust the crown: Spread the braids out and adjust them to form a loose crown on your head.
9. Secure with hairspray: If desired, lightly spray your hair with hairspray to hold the style in place.
Variations:
Double braided crown: Braid two French braids on each side and join them together.
Twisted braided crown: Twist two sections of hair and then braid them together to create a crown.
Half-up braided crown: Braid the hair from the top of your head to the crown and leave the rest of the hair loose.
Messy braided crown: Intentionally loosen the braids for a more casual look.
Embellished braided crown: Add decorative elements such as flowers, ribbons, or beads to the crown.
1. Brush your hair and part it down the middle, creating two sections.
Braided Hairstyles
1. Two French Braids:
Step 1: Brush your hair and part it down the middle.
Step 2: Take a small section of hair from the front of your head, near the part. Divide it into three strands.
Step 3: Cross the right strand over the middle strand, then the left strand over the new middle strand.
Step 4: Add a small section of hair from the side of your head to the outer right strand and cross it over the middle strand.
Step 5: Continue this process, adding hair to the outer strands and crossing them over the middle strand.
Step 6: Keep braiding until you reach the end of your hair. Secure with an elastic band.
Step 7: Repeat the process on the other side of your head.
2. Dutch Braid (Inside-Out French Braid):
Step 1: Part your hair down the middle.
Step 2: Take a small section of hair from the front of your head, near the part. Divide it into three strands.
Step 3: Instead of crossing the outer strands over the middle strand, cross the middle strand over the outer strand on both sides.
Step 4: Add a small section of hair from the side of your head to the outer right strand and cross the middle strand over the new outer right strand.
Step 5: Continue this process, adding hair to the outer strands and crossing the middle strand over the outer strands.
Step 6: Braid until you reach the end of your hair. Secure with an elastic band.
3. Waterfall Braid:
Step 1: Part your hair deeply on one side.
Step 2: Start braiding a French braid along the part, starting from the top of your head.
Step 3: When you get to the end of the braid, drop the bottom strand and pick up a new strand from below it.
Step 4: Continue braiding, adding new strands from below the dropped strand.
Step 5: Keep braiding until you reach the other side of your head. Secure with an elastic band.
4. Fishtail Braid:
Step 1: Part your hair down the middle.
Step 2: Take a small section of hair from the outer right side and cross it over to the inside of the left section.
Step 3: Take a small section of hair from the outer left side and cross it over to the inside of the right section.
Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3, alternating sides, until you reach the end of your hair.
Step 5: Secure with an elastic band.
5. Crown Braid:
Step 1: Part your hair in a circle around the top of your head.
Step 2: Divide the hair inside the circle into three equal sections.
Step 3: Start braiding a regular three-strand braid, but always incorporate the hair from around the circle.
Step 4: Continue braiding until you reach the end of the hair.
Step 5: Secure with an elastic band and hide the end of the braid under the rest of the hair.
2. French braid each section, starting from the nape of your neck towards the crown of your head.
Step 1: Divide Your Hair into Three Sections
Part your hair down the middle, creating two equal sections.
Grab a small section of hair from the nape of your neck on one side of the part and divide it into three strands: left, middle, and right.
Step 2: Begin French Braiding
Cross the left strand over the middle strand.
Then, cross the right strand over the new middle strand (the former left strand).
Pick up a small section of hair from the side of your head and add it to the left strand.
Step 3: Continue French Braiding
Cross the left strand (now with added hair) over the middle strand.
Cross the right strand over the new middle strand.
Pick up another small section of hair from the side and add it to the right strand.
Step 4: Braid Towards the Crown
Continue alternating left and right strands, adding hair from the sides as you go.
Keep the braid tight to secure it.
Step 5: Reach the Crown
When you reach the crown of your head, simply continue braiding without adding any more hair.
Step 6: Secure the Braid
Once you have finished braiding, tie off the end with a hair elastic.
Step 7: Repeat on Other Side
Repeat steps 1-6 on the other side of your head.
Step 8: Combine the Braids
Once both braids are complete, cross them over each other at the nape of your neck.
Tie them together with a hair elastic.
Tip: For a more voluminous braid, gently pull on the outer loops of the braid to loosen them.
3. Secure the braids with an elastic at the top of your head.
Step 3: Secure the Braids
1. Gather the ends of all the braids together at the top of your head.
2. Use an elastic hair tie to secure the braids into a high ponytail.
3. Pull the elastic tightly to keep the braids in place.
4. Optional: For a more polished look, you can wrap a ribbon or hair scarf around the base of the ponytail.
4. Gently loosen the braids with your fingers to create a more voluminous effect.
Step 4: Volumizing the Braids
Once the braids have dried completely, gently loosen them with your fingers. Start from the roots and work your way down the braid, carefully pulling apart the strands to create a fuller, more voluminous effect. Avoid tugging or pulling too hard, as this can damage the hair.
5. Cross the braids over each other, securing them with bobby pins at the base of each braid.
Step 5: Cross and Secure the Braids
1. Take the right braid and cross it over the left braid.
2. Secure the right braid at the base of the left braid using bobby pins.
3. Repeat steps 1-2 with the left braid, crossing it over the right braid and securing it at the base of the right braid.
4. Push the bobby pins into the base of each braid firmly to hold them in place.
5. Ensure that the braids are crossed tightly and evenly to create a secure and defined X-shape.
